Musicians often struggle with injuries, misinformation about the body, and lack strategies for their own health and wellness. This blog aims to remedy that with low cost to consumer education and resources.
Hi- I’m Kayleigh, and I’m a professional violist and movement educator based in Seattle, WA. I started this blog in 2014 while I was a member of the San Antonio Symphony. I initially just wanted to share the information I was learning from yoga teacher trainings, anatomy trainings, and beyond. It has since evolved to address issues in pedagogy, movement education, fitness, classical music culture, and more, as well as issues in teaching yoga, pilates, strength, and more. As the blog has changed, I’ve additionally expanded my own training, starting as a yoga teacher, then expanding to pilates, personal training, Body Mapping, and more. This blog is not intended to replace medical advice, but is meant as a resource for musicians (and non musicians) looking to deepen their knowledge about the body and movement.
